🍇LET’S CELEBRATE #ORGANICWEEK
in Canada❤️ ...even though it’s an all around #ORGANICLIFESTYLE
in this neck of the woods!🌳🌱🌳
👩🌾 DEEP BREATH IN... here’s my rant, it’s organic:😁
ALL farmers should be required to have training in #regenerativeorganicagriculture
either through a formal course or through a mentor. I complete a large amount of paperwork for my #Ecocert
Canada organic certification that shows traceability & transparency, have yearly and drop-in inspections, and I follow strict organic standards. A few examples are: where I buy my seeds from (they must also be certified organic and give me their certificate), what I use to clean out my equipment, what approved substances I use on my land, if any; field diagrams of how I rotate my crops and what I plant as “food for the earth” like cover crops & green manure...and more.
EXHALE! 🗣😁 A pain in the a**...donkey? Yes; but remember that growing food for others to consume is a BIG responsibility and has to be taken seriously. This type of training and bookkeeping must be a requirement for ALL farmers, specifically those using #toxicpesticides,
synthetic fertilizers, & herbicides. These records should be made available to anyone purchasing that farmer’s food. All growers of food, & stewards of the land, MUST be held accountable for what they do to the land, good and bad. All farmers must strive to farm regeneratively and organically, not only to reverse the current damage sustained by Mother Earth but to strengthen the health of her people and her inhabitants.
