Buffalo. Cauliflower. Tacos. 🔥 Who wants the recipe?! ✨ Both by @chickpeachick_ . Almond flour tortillas (so expensive but seriously so worth it) + arugula + buffalo cauliflower (sauce made from hot sauce, butter, and garlic powder) + avocado 🥑 + vegan cashew ranch + sprinkle of chili powder . Ingredients: - 1/2 head of cauliflower, chopped into florets - 2 tbsp butter or vegan butter - 1/2 - 3/4 cup hot sauce (depending how hot you like it) - 1 tbsp garlic powder - 2 handfuls kale - 1/2 avocado, diced into chunks - 2 tortillas (I used Siete almond flour kind) - Dressing of choice Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 400F. Cut cauliflower into desirable sized florets. Place on oven sheet, cover in garlic powder to taste, and bake for 25 min. 2. While cauliflower cooks, melt the butter for 15 sec in microwave. Mix in the additional garlic powder and hot sauce. Stir to combine and set aside. 3. Place 1 tsp olive oil in pan over low-medium heat. Sautee kale until crispy, about 5-10 min. 4. Take cauliflower out of oven and coat in buffalo sauce mixture. Place back in oven for additional 10-15 min. 5. Heat up tortillas. Place kale and avocado chunks. Take cauliflower out of oven and place in tortillas as well. . HOW I HEALED MY RELATIONSHIP WITH FOOD. . If you asked me 5 years ago what my relationship with food was I would've said "I don't know...fine?"🤷🏻‍♀️. . It wasn't something I thought about. I just thought I was one of those people who would always have to watch what they were eating and have it be a fact that anytime I looked at food I’d gain weight (or so I thought 😬). . I definitely didn't realize my relationship with food is what was keeping me stuck. . ❌always restricted calories (and then ultimately binge ate later). ❌got mad at myself whenever i experienced hunger (especially right after a meal) ❌always trying to weigh less ❌looked at food as either 'good' or 'bad' ❌told myself i wouldn't overeat at family dinners, and then always did (which of course caused more guilt/shame) ❌Exercised inconsistently ❌Felt sorry for myself whenever whatever I was doing wasn't 'working' . Now that I'm on the other side of the above I can absolutely see that my mindset is what was causing my internal struggle 😣. . I'm definitely not perfect, but am in a much better place mentally, physically, and emotionally now that I've taken the leap to trust myself and body 💃. . ✅stopped restricting calories ✅re-learned hunger and fullness cues ✅no longer look at food as numbers and equations ✅separated my worth from the number on the scale ✅take each meal as an opportunity to practice rather than fear ✅let go of the good food/bad food mentality ✅practice joyful movement ✅started to understand my emotional eating habits rather than pretend they weren't there or something that I would never be able to change ✅hired a coach - IE: let go of the idea that asking for help meant i was weak or stupid . Talking about emotions, feelings, and our relationship to self and body can be intimidating at first. Trust me - I KNOW 🙋🏻‍♀️. But I want to suggest that once we open up and share our story - a huge weight can be lifted off our shoulders and we can be left feeling FREE ✨. . How amazing is that⁉️Double tap if you agree! . If you don’t plan ahead, you might just get stuck with those unhealthy options or you’ll be more likely to make those decisions in a last minute effort. I always try to pack snacks or stop by a gas station for fruit, protein bars, nuts, popcorn or turkey jerky. All these are great options for snacking!🍽 💟WHOLE NUTRIENT DENSE FOODS>>. We all know nutrient dense foods can be hard to find on the go but those options are almost ALWAYS better than processed ones. Sometimes it seems easier to grab the bag of Lays cause it may be lower calorie and less expensive but fueling our bodies with nutrient dense foods is key to energy and overall health! 🍎🍌🥦🥕 💟DONT STRESS! It’s easy to feel out of control when you’re on the go but just make the best out of your situation! Don’t worry about hitting macros perfectly..just try your best! There are two types of fibre, soluble and insoluble. Think of a sponge with the green scratch pad on one side, you know the standard kitchen sponge?!
