I Decided. - Big Sean is an underrated modern gem. I Decided is a project that completely caught me off guard. Before listening to I Decided, I was only familiar with Sean's big hits like Beware and Blessings. This project encouraged me to dive into his discography, which turned him into one of my favorite modern talents. Sean can rap and sing exceptionally well. His bars are interwoven throughout this entire project. The most credit I can give to Sean is him always sticking to a specific tone on all his projects. Every track on here, while different, still manage to sound like they’re meant to be together. Listening all the way through, I have found myself lost in which song is which. This also brings up my biggest issue with the album. Some tracks like Inspire Me and Same Time pt. 1 suffer by bringing nothing different to the table. They sound like repeats of previous better records on the project. If Sean cut some fluff and cheesy tracks out of all of his albums, he would be known as a modern legend. My favorite tracks on here are Bigger Than Me, Owe Me, and my personal favorite No Favors with one of Eminem’s most significant features in recent memory. I recommend a listen for fans of Sean and hip hop in general. I give I Decided. a 7.5/10.
