It would be great if you could follow them. Teenagers helping teenagers with #cybersafety.
On August 11, the DAP Team set themselves the challenge of reaching 1000 followers in 30 days. The timing is purposeful as it included National Child Protection week and the deadline is the day before the Aus & NZ #esafety19
conference held in Sydney. The Team used the work they have been developing for their school on digital citizenship as material in a carefully planned out social media campaign across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Teenagers today were born into the digital age and the research of the Digital Access Pass has shown that they respond to material on #cybersafety, #onlinesecurity, #screentime, #cyberbullying
when it isn’t delivered in a patronising way. The students in the DAP team have reached out to politicians, the #eSafety
office, social media influencers, athletes, the media and more in the hope that the value of their message will be recognised and shared by others.
