I’ve said it before and I’m experiencing it again now - losing weight is a marathon, not a sprint. It’s a process that takes time and so, so much patience. Weight loss also tends to look more like a roller coaster than a downhill slope. 🎢
In the two weeks that I’ve been doing somewhat regular workouts and eating healthier (I’d say 70/30, my “snackcidents” still happen on occasion.), I’ve lost 5.5 pounds and 5 inches total.
For me, that’s a pretty good start but I can honestly say that if I didn’t set small goals for myself, I probably would have given up sometime during that first week.
But when you hit those smaller, more attainable goals, something in your brain changes. You feel accomplished. Proud even. And then instead of believing that your bigger goals are a distant, far off dream, all of the sudden, they seem possible.
1 pound at a time. 1 day at a time. 1 workout at a time, and 1 meal at a time.
This is a marathon. Not a sprint. 🏃♀️
