September is the month of hard/winter squash! Did you know that squash is actually a fruit? Winter squash is full of nutrient density, including vitamin A, vitamin C, B6, calcium, iron, potassium, fiber, and a host of other antioxidant phytochemicals. Wer hätte gedacht, dass es so einfach ist Frischkäse selbst zu machen🥰 Ich bin angefixt alle möglichen Varianten auszuprobieren! Egal ob mit Kräutern, Chilli oder Joghurt verfeinert🥛🌶🌱 Die Basis ist frische Vollmilch, die man in einem Topf erwärmt und ein bisschen Zitronensaft, der die Milchproteine zum flocken (denaturieren) bringt. Dann muss man die Masse nur noch von der Molke trennen. Raw vegan lunch with a view!! 🙌🏞🏕🥑 I typically eat fruit all day and save my fats for the evening. Eating this way keeps me feeling my best - clear minded, energetic, and happy. Instead of my body directing energy toward digesting, it can continue to heal and detox, keeping my body feeling "light." As soon as you introduce overt fats, your liver stops cleansing and starts directing energy to break down the fats. Your adrenals pump out adrenaline to try to push the fat through, which is stressful on the body. We are NOT meant to eat high fat or high protein diets. Fruits, vegetables, and leafy greens not only contain fat and protein in adequate amounts, but they are present in a form that is bioavailable. When you eat too much protein from the wrong sources, i.e. animal products - and virtually everyone is - it doesn't break down and instead deteriorates the body. This leads to protein-related diseases like gout, kidney disease, kidney stones, gallstones, gallbladder disease, hepatitis C, lymphedema, connective tissue damage, osteopenia, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and heart disease. Not to mention, aging! My exception is hiking and backpacking. I do carry fruit with me and that's what keeps me fueled. Our cells run on SUGAR! I ate nearly 800 calories in dates. On this epic day hike I started with an apple pie smoothie and snacked on apple, dates, and celery before enjoying this homemade raw vegan bread topped with romaine and avocado. It was delicious! Sometimes it's fun to eat similarly as your group. While everyone munched down on their wheat bread, meat, and cheese I munched on my raw vegan version and took in this incredible view! Should I eat less on rest days? Can I getta HECK NAW?!?! Your body is resting and recovering from your other days in the gym. Part of this recovery process is actually to repair your body so that it actually recovers. Repair takes materials- ie food. Your body needs the same amount of fuel on rest days as it does on training days to ensure that your body is getting enough nutrition to recover so that you can go ham next time you’re in the gym. You can switch around macronutrient distributions- higher fat rest days and higher carb training days (a mild form of carb cycling) while keeping calorie intake consistent. This switch allows the body to utilize both fat on rest days and carbs on training days for fuel. On training days, the primary source of energy, in weightlifting or anything that is not endurance, is from glucose (carbs). This is why higher carbs on training days are optimal. Higher fats on rest days allows your body to utilize fats as the primary fuel source, allow you to eat in lower volume (fat dense meals are typically smaller than carb dense meals), and can be a way to switch up meals and eat different foods. 🥧BEEF PASTIE🥔 • No U.P. Experience is complete without a pastie. Simple combo yet insanely satiating and tasty. Flaky, buttery pie crust was PERFECT. The filling is different root vegetables and beef. I think the filling was lacking a bit of flavor but the gravy was the savior. • Had to stop myself from ordering a few extra sides and shooting em back like jaeger shots. • Plan of action is to just enjoy food and drinks. Get some extra protein where I can and not eat like an asshole. • Northern MI is arguably THE most beautiful place on the planet. Next stop is hiking Hogsback mountain. • • •

The advantages of weekly grocery shopping are that it requires planning for the week, so you have less stress on week days, it makes you use up everything, so you won't through food away and on the last days before shopping again it may force you into the creative process of "work with what you have on hand". In this case I ran out of bananas, berries, flax seeds and most fresh fruits (in other words close to a nutritional desaster), so I decided to make my porridge with a grated carrot. Why not? I love carrot cakes and I even like my porridge with zucchini. For this end of summer "carrot cake porridge" I cooked 40g rolled oats 1 grated carrot 1/2 cup soy milk 1/2 cup nut milk 1tbs chopped walnuts and pecans Ground cinnamon, cardamon, ginger and nutmeg In the end I added some plums and drizzled some maple syrup onto the porridge. Any doubts that it couldn't have been delicious?😋💚 Wochenplanung und Wocheneinkauf ersparen wirklich viel Zeit und Stress und lassen den Kopf frei, auch mal an etwas anderes als Essen zu denken. Lots of omnivores keep telling me I'll get fat by the time I reach 40 years old, if I keep eating so many carbs. I'm 35 and my body is still lean. The funny thing is that I train so little at the moment, around 90-120 minutes per week, and I still stuff my face with starches, fruit and sugar drinks. I have a daily calorie surplus of at least 500 kcal per day. I still don't gain fat with less training. As you can see, my face is a bit puffy, which is due to the salt I barely sweat with such little weekly training. I just need to consume less sodium now😄

Greg and I have been hunting down the perfect spice blend for curry. 🍛Most spices either didn’t hit the right flavor notes or literally just missed the mark. This curry has sweet undertones and is swimming in flavor. Went perfect with some quinoa and sautéed Brussels sprouts and mushrooms. While I made this dish in the instapot, I have left directions below for stove top cooking as well. Regardless of how you make it, it is totally worth the end result. 🥰 . Sweet Chickpea Lentil Curry 1 15 oz can chickpeas, rinsed and drained 1/4 cup dry green lentils, rinsed well 1 15 oz can fire roasted tomatoes 1 small red onion, diced 1 inch knob of ginger, minced 3 garlic cloves, minced 1 small sweet potato, cubed 1/2 tsp cumin 1/2 tsp coriander 1/2 tsp turmeric 1/4 tsp ground fennel Pinch of cinnamon Pinch of cardamom Pinch of ground clove Few cracks of fresh ground pepper 1 15 oz can light coconut milk or 1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk 1 cup veggie broth or water ✨ . Add onions to a medium sized pot and sauté until softened. Add in garlic and ginger and continue to sauté until fragrant. Add in remaining seasonings and cook with a splash of water for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Add in remaining ingredients and stir to fully combine. Bring to a boil then reduce to a low simmer and cover. Allow to cook for 15 minutes, stir and recover then cook for an additional 10 minutes or until lentils are fully cooked and tender. Feel free to add more cooking liquid if you wish for curry to be thinner. Serve as desired. . For instapot, throw all ingredients into the pot and stir well to combine. Cover with lid, seal for pressure cooking and set instapot to manual for 17 minutes. Allow to naturally release pressure before serving. 🙌🏽
