Sometimes there is no knowing the "right" path forward. I started out as a Fine Art major, switched to biology, found out I liked chemistry better-- and today?
Writer and scientist are two major parts of me as a person. They aren't erasable. And to this day, I will advocate not having to figure out what you want to do immediately and give something up in he process. I will tell anyone who asks, that if they need to switch directions entirely to find fulfillment in life, I will support them as a friend.
I still write something every few days. I'm a scientist and that carries into my art and stories; and, the attention to detail I've learned from cosplay and jewelry making has made me into a more attentive scientist.
I believe that there are some things in life we don't have to choose between, like things that are important to us. I've never stopped making art or writing, even if I've become a scientist, and I hope I never will stop doing these things. Science and making a difference gives me fullfillment, and writing gives me peace.
But even when there's no clear path forward, you don't have to give up on everything you like to conform to one path. Just to make a choice of reasonable focus based on what's most important. And it will always be important to do what's right for you.
But tell me-- what do you like to do? What's something you never want to give up on? !!!-Or, something you'd like to start again?
