CHRISTMAS CHOCOLATE GIFT SETS 2019 REVIEW 🍫🎄 Here are the festive gift boxes for this year from the big 4 players. Starting with Cadbury, for $30 you get a 700g tin of all your favourites. Caramello, Flake, Cherry Ripe, Turkish Delight, Moro, Old Gold, Dream, Picnic, Boost and the classic Milk Chocolate. Last years tin was prettier imo, this one is a cop out. Don’t be a fool, wait until these go half price, even at $15 I still think they’re hideously overpriced.
Mars celebrations champagne bottle will set you back a hefty $20 for a measly 320g of chocolate. Containing all the staples - Mars bar, Bounty, Galaxy, Snickers, Caramel Galaxy, Malteser and Milky Way, even when these do go half price I’d still avoid them like the plague. I’ve yet to buy a box of Celebrations that weren’t rancid or stale.
Quality Streets, the box you give to those you don’t really like. It’s unfortunate these have such a bad reputation because they’re by far the best value for money. $12.50 for 726g you can’t really go wrong. Well, you’re buying a tub of Quality Streets so I guess that’s the downside, but for a gift 👍🏻 Orange Creme, Strawberry Delight, Caramel Swirl, Toffee Penny, Milk Choc Block, Fudge, Chocolate Toffee Finger, Toffee Deluxe, Milk Orange Crunch, The Green Triangle, Coconut Eclair and The Hazelnut, they’re all here. Some of the fillings are actually rather good, it’s the Nestle chocolate that really lets these down. Nestle just doesn’t do chocolate like the other big players.
Saving the best but most overpriced box for last, we have Toblerone’s offering. With a mix of Milk, White and Dark miniatures, this tin is a whopping $30. You pay for quality I guess, and really, can you put a price on white chocolate Toblerone? 🤤
Now we wait for the more boutique chocolate companies to release their festive offerings. .
