Last night I ate more Ice cream than I would have liked to🙈 I was emotional, frustrated because things haven’t been going as planned, I was stressed after a long week plus dealing with neck pains So I walked to the grocery store fully aware of what I was doing and got myself some ice cream Was I hungry? Nope Was I using ice cream to cope with all the emotions? It wasn’t on my radar, but this morning last minute I changed my plans to hike the creek. It was soft and easy and... still. I just took a yoga class that was long, intense, hella sweaty, and bound to stir up some feelings. Near the end of class, the teacher encouraged us to think about a moment in the past 24 hours that resulted in feelings of happiness or elation. Something really great happened to me yesterday, and conversely, some pretty shitty shit happened - but amidst those events, the moment that came to mind was the feeling of laying in bed yesterday morning, just before the day began to stir, with my hands gently folded into the hands of someone I love. Enveloped in the feeling of being safe, comfortable, and free. . The timeline of life is plotted with sweeping peaks and valleys, but sometimes the softest, quietest, baseline moments are the sweetest of all. 💞☺️💞

Today I’m grateful for the sounds of rain falling in the woods from the comfort of a screened porch. (I want one!) Diving into big picture thinking this weekend to level up my business to give more to all of you moving forward. Taking the time to slow down and step away from everyday life to do this is a gift I treasure and look forward to all year. This cabin in the woods isn’t Pinterest fancy, but that doesn’t matter in the least! I’ve got space to think, cook, sew, rest and recharge. Plus daily walks in the woods looking at cabins and doing my #mindright meditation afterwards listening to the birds and trees is completely restorative. Day 13 of #tmac20 and I got my heart rate up, and my #mindright and focused on Jesus and my attitude. . . . I have found that doing today’s advanced Power Couple workout, I am more balanced than I was a couple months ago! It’s the little progress that eventually adds up to big gains! So if you are struggling, don’t give up! You are growing and gaining muscle and stability and it will pay off. It just takes time. . . The mindright challenge was to sleep 💤 and boy did I sleep! I am trying to get to bed earlier, so I can wake up earlier...still working on it! But for the past 13 days I was able to do my exercises first thing in the morning...baby steps towards my ultimate goal! I still have a week to accomplish it!!! . . . @tmacfitness #tmac20
Series of events today led me off the workout path and to be honest, I just really need a break. This cough is so annoying, my oldest kiddo now has it and my youngest wasn't feeling the best this afternoon. This might not look like much, but this band and setup has been so helpful for improving my pushups. It’s also improved my attitude and mindset when it comes to doing hard things, like pushups. ⁣ ⁣ I learned this from @nlf_athletes back when I visited No Limit Fitness earlier this summer and I’ve been using it ever since.⁣ ⁣ Using a large resistance band, I set up in one of the squat ranks in a low position that provides enough assistance but also allow me to work on strength.⁣ Once in position with the band hitting right about my hips, I’m set and ready to work. ⁣ The setup of the band allows me to perfect pushup form on my toes with a more can-do attitude. I’m also able to get full range of motion without overcompensating. As I get stronger I can either lower or swap out the strength of the band to continue improving my form.⁣ ⁣ This is just one great takeaway of many that I’ve picked up this year. It’s always important to have a willing attitude and a desire to learn new things. My morning routine is typically as follows: - Starts off with a big mug of black coffee ☕️ 🖤 (always) - To the gym where I spend an hour of my day sweating with the best people 🥰💪🏼 - straight into a short moment of meditation that includes my gratitudes and intentions for the day #mindright 🧘🏻‍♀️ - then back home for a big breakfast of delicious foods that usually involve a good portion of fat and carbs (because post workout and I’m starving) 🍠🥑🥓 I find when I’m able to begin each day with my routine, I set the tone for the day to be a good one, and even on the days that aren’t so great, I can at least handle them with grace and integrity knowing I started the day giving my mind and body what it needs to handle what life throws at me as my best self. ❤️ What’s your morning routine?
On Monday I mentioned in my post that I couldn’t get to 2 minutes running with my interval of 2/1 without dying. I was defeated wanting to throw up with a 15:46 mpm and just wanted to make myself comfortable by changing my interval to 1/1 but I chose not to. On Wed I ran my 2/1 interval feeling amazing for 6 rounds at 12:03 mpm and this morning I pushed myself in the rain for 7 rounds and ended with 12:30 mpm. I’ve been doing my meditation right after my outdoor workout by a lake and it’s been the most magical thing when I close my eyes and it’s still kinda dark out and when I’m done and open my eyes the day is brighter. Truly feeling like a new damn day. When it started raining this morning (12 min into my workout) I told myself I would just meditate at home so I don’t have to do it in the rain but I realized that was my mind trying to keep me comfortable and quickly shook off that thought. Day 11: 10,000 step workout ✔️. . Costco trip definitely helped me move my body today plus another walk home from school! It FINALLY felt "nice" outside this afternoon. . And today, I successfully made it through the ENTIRE DAY without a splitting headache and I think it's because I changed up something in my diet. . I'm going to give it a few days and then try the culprit again and see what happens.... The positive words I reflected on today are from a song the choir will be singing, that we sang yesterday, “WAYmaker, miracle worker, promise keeper, light in the darkness.” What seems impossible IS possible. REAL TALK: I lost my phone during my vacation and it was the best thing to happen to me. ☺️ After that came 2 weeks of phone-less bliss. 🙅🏼‍♀️📱 I like to think of myself as someone who’s not defined by my possessions and I’ve done a ton of work to learn to surrender to life and stop trying to plan/control for everything.. — Well guess what? This was the ultimate test of this, and such an amazing lesson in surrendering and seeing just how temporary everything is. Yes... my intial reaction was shock/fear but it didn’t take long for me to step back and see this transform to acceptance and a sense of ease. I knew this was happening FOR me and teaching me a lesson much more meaningful than any phone or piece of technology. . — So how did I do this so quickly? I 100% credit my meditation practice, which has taught me to be less reactive, especially during stressful situtions. Sure, I could have freaked out and ruined my mood for the rest of my day/trip, but having the ability to remove myself from any overtaking emotions, practicing gratitude, and surrendering fully all meant I took this as a sign to chill the F out and take a much needed break. Do you have a mind/spirit practice? 🕊 • Nutrition is one part of wellness, but I'd never say that food is the entire story. Our health is so much more than the food we eat. • I think because I'm so introverted I've always tried to keep a morning quiet time. Sometimes it's short (although I'd rather it be long 😂) and honestly, its often been introvert self-preservation 😏. Like if I get my mind right, then and only then, can I people 😂 But I'm always tweaking the practice. • It often includes variations of journaling, praying, mantras, spiritual readings, etc. • Whatever it includes, it's crucial to my well-being. In fact, of all the things I do for my health and wellness, this is easily in the top three. And while I am a religious person, I definitely do not see this as something you need to be a particular religion to do. • Do you have a practice for your mind/spirit? Do you practice in the morning? Or another time of day? Do you notice a difference when you miss it? • P.S. ⚖️C.H.A.N.G.E...When people say they want to change but then lose hope...it gets to me, honestly it does and you know why? 😧⁣⁠ ⁣⁠ Because I know deep down every single one of us is capable of change, everyone can change if they get out of their own way and believe they can. ⁣⁠ ⁣⁠ What normally happens is they might start a new diet, a new routine a new health plan and as soon as it goes well, they sabotage themselves and go back to their old ways, .... . what happens is, something goes off in their brain deep into their subconscious telling them, this isn't you, we don't like this new you, it's scary and new and weird... . and go back to the junk food or sleeping in late, and the anxiety this brings makes you just easily go back to your old ways...⁣⁠ ⁣⁠ But this is the tipping point⚖️, if you can persevere here, where it matters most you will crack open your new routine, your new goal and your new way, then you subconscious will slowly have yo accept ok, she wins, let's all get geared up for this health routine everyone...⁣⁠ ⁣⁠ So believing it deeply and truly and following through...allows you're truly change⁣⁠ ⁣⁠ I'd love to know if this resonated with you and if you have experienced it before.😊

Day 10 of the #tmac20 and Day # 19 of working out everyday! I have also made a Instagram page that I only have inspirational quotes and I like to read them daily! Today’s #mindright challenge was read something or listen to something inspirational. I added some that spoke to me today! I also did my #sweat at the gym walking on the treadmill. Real challenge is when I go out of town this weekend, and trying to stay with everything! Wish me luck @tmacfitness
