Toddler dinner: roasted salmon and veggies in foil packets inspired by @collegenutritionist. I had thin cuts of salmon and adjusted the roasting time to 12 minutes at 400°F. For the veggies I used potatoes, bell peppers and butternut squash (swipe). This was so easy to make and the salmon was a hit with Emerson! Do you like blue cheese? 🤔 . I'm having salmon tonight and I'm dreaming of this specific recipe! . I made this dish way back last December and loved every bite. . Blue Cheese Stuffed Salmon wrapped in Prosciutto Serves 2 . 400g Salmon 30g Blue Cheese (use goats cheese if you prefer) 6 slices Prosciutto Salt and Pepper 1 tsp avocado oil . Directions Preheat oven to 425 . Create a pocket in the middle of each salmon. Divide the cheese between piece. Season both sides with salt and pepper. Lay out 3 slices of prosciutto overlapping each other slightly. Lay the open pocket side of salmon down on the prosciutto and wrap both sides around creating a little parcel. Repeat with other piece. Heat skillet over medium high heat with oil. When hot add salmon top side down and sear for 1-2 minutes. Flip over (seam side down) and then place in the oven and continue cooking for approximately 5-8 minutes or until salmon is cooked through. . Let rest for 1-2 minutes. Earlier this year, I had the honor of being a megaphone for a pilot seafood campaign in my home city. Using my social channels, recipes, tips, facebook LIVE videos, etc, we increased fish consumption by 2.5% in Indianapolis. It was such an honor to come beside moms - and dads- and cheer them on in getting into the kitchen and making delicious, easy, nourishing seafood meals for their family. Kids are meant to be in the kitchen!! Lunch: Wild Salmon Patties on a bed of romaine with fresh #sauerkraut for some #fermented yumminess. The recipe is on page 149 of my book, Unprocessed Living. But if you don't have it, get the recipe here. To a bowl, add 1 can of wild Alaskan salmon (bones included), 1/2 cup quick cooking oats, 1 tsp dijon, 1 egg, and a pinch of dill if ya have it. Form patties and pan fry in ghee or olive oil. Cook 3-4 on each side. I like mine with a bit of sriracha and ketchup mixed together. Check out our newest recipe: Rainbow Trout Fettuccini. 🍝🇮🇹 ⠀ ⠀ Ingredients: ⠀ ⠀ 1 tablespoon butter ⠀ 1 cup onion, chopped ⠀ 4 garlic cloves ⠀ 4 (3-5-oz.) Clear Springs Rainbow Trout Fillets, thawed and patted dry ⠀ 1 lb. medium shrimp, peeled and deveined ⠀ 1 lb. sea scallops, pat dry ⠀ 2 cups half and half ⠀ ½ teaspoon sea salt ⠀ ¼ teaspoon pepper ⠀ ½ cup grated Asiago cheese ⠀ ½ cup grated fresh Parmesan, divided ⠀ 8 cups cooked fettuccine (1 pound uncooked) ⠀ Parsley for garnish, chopped ⠀ Lemon for garnish ⠀ Directions: ⠀ ⠀ Melt butter in a 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the trout skin side down and cook for 2-3 minutes. Turn over and remove the skin. ⠀ Push trout over to one side while it continues to cook and add the onions and garlic on the other side of the skillet. Sauté for one minute. ⠀ Add the shrimp and scallops and sauté 3 more minutes until done. Break up the trout into large pieces and gently incorporate with shrimp and scallops. Reduce heat to low. ⠀ Add half and half, salt and pepper and cook three minutes until thoroughly heated, stirring constantly but do not boil. ⠀ Gradually sprinkle Asiago cheese over seafood mixture, stirring constantly. Perinatal and postnatal depression can be caused by an omega 3 deficiency. . Perinatal depression is depression that occurs during pregnancy (postnatal depression is more specifically depression during the period of time following child-birth). . I thought that I would share this information with you, in the hope that if anyone reading this is experiencing perinatal depression, that they would consider trialling omega 3 supplementation. It's safe during pregnancy and alongside antidepressant medication (as long as you don't have any bleeding disorders). The only factor that you need to consider, is stopping the omega 3 a couple of weeks before your due date, since it can have blood thinning effects. So be mindful of this, especially if you are having a Caesarean Section. . I have personally seen women with perinatal depression, recover from depression within 4 weeks of taking high-dose omega 3 and a couple of other nutrients (without the use of antidepressant meds). .
