"Marshall, those Pattinson boys aren't even in our jurisdiction. Why in all seven hells are you going after them?" Sheriff Gray spoke with irritation at the young Marshall Monroe. "As far as I'm aware, Leigh, federal Marshalls are free to tackle bounties freely should they find it worth their time. Those boys have been preying on folks out of Valentine and Strawberry and I feel it necessary to insure the safety of our neighbors." By the time he had finished speaking he was already mounted. "Now unless your deputy kills you or someone comes along and starts pillaging the plantations, I trust you can handle any trouble that comes your way." He tipped his hat to the sheriff and rode off to Ambarino, knowing it wouldn't take long to find the rowdy Pattinson brothers. After a day's ride, he found the bastards camping just off the road. Often times Jeremiah would take bounties, but seeing as they outnumbered him, he worked swiftly to dispatch them. Three bullets was all it took. The last Pattinson collapsed into the fire, and everything spread until all three bodies were burnt to a crisp. The Marshall approached, taking a metal cup and grabbing their freshly prepared coffee. "Well damn, guess I'll just let nature take them."
