Swamishri to Amit Bhagat (Divyapurush Swami as a parshad): 'Don't you go to wash the utensils? '
Amit Bhagat: Sometimes.
Swamishri: Don't you feel like it?
Amit Bhagat: The other yuvaks are doing it.
Swamishri: We should go too, you know
Amit Bhagat: But sometimes the ladies are there as well.
Swamishri: Oh, in that case... But you should at least feel like doing seva, even now that you've renounced everything. Develop a habit for seva, like Shriji Maharaj says in Vachanamrut Gadhada II-25. Read, go to katha, do seva. Form good habits. When it's time for katha, do katha... when it's time for seva, seva... Ma'tam Swami used to read out aloud alone, even when there was no-one else around. When there's nothing to do, don't waste time just chatting or fooling around. Sit down with a book. We're sadhus now, aren't we? Do you like all these things?
Amit Bhagat: Not really.
Swamishri: Then now you should learn to. If you're vigilant now, all these things can grow into good habits; otherwise...'We've come here to become the best of sadhus. People should be proud to see us; feel at peace when they see us. Never engage in negative talks. They make us slack. Always be enthusiastic. Yogi Bapa used to say 'always be in high spirits'. Yogi Bapa also used to tell everyone to become 'all-rounders'. Do you know what that means? It means seva, katha, touring villages, singing kirtans, sweeping,... not just getting up and giving speeches. If you ever have to do some low, menial seva don't think about getting your clothes spoilt. Do seva with mahima, with enthusiasm...' Sadhu Dharmacharandas
