Yesterday was International Human Rights Day, which cannot be one day a year in my world. My work investigates the deeply personal spaces where our human rights, or lack of them, intersect our daily lives. Today I wanted to share this diptych portrait, “The Geometry Of Our Spilled Blood,” and the courage and love it takes to live every day with hope and compassion in a world where state-sponsored violence may touch any of us. The nonviolent resistance of the women I have met in the face of this inspires me every day. With love and immense gratitude to all of you who follow and encourage me, and especially to the women who have shared their stories with me.
